Reinstatement Following A Suspension Of Privilege to Enroll In The University

During a suspension period a hold is placed on a student's account that prevents registration, housing application, transcript access, etc.  Reinstatement of these privileges is not automatic.  Students must file a petition with the Office of Judicial Affairs to have them reinstated.

Following or near the end of a suspension period, and once all other sanctions are complete,  a written request should be filed with the Office of Judicial Affairs.  There is no form for this request.  However, the petition should include more than one sentence.  The petition should be in filed by the student in letter form, either attached to an email or faxed.  The letter should at least include statements as to what the student has been doing during the suspension period, how the University may be insured that the behavior that the behavior will not happen again, what they have learned overall from the incident(s) that resulted in suspension of their privileges, and finally why the student's privileges should be reinstated.

Each petition will be reviewed by the Office of Judicial Affairs.  If the petition is denied the student will receive notification of denial along with the reason(s) that the denial occurred.  Students will not be notified if their petition has been accepted.  Simply the hold will be lifted from the student's account, as can be seen on Patriot Web.

Please note that in most all cases during a suspension period a student is not allowed to be on campus for any reason, other than approved by the Office of Judicial Affairs.  Even after a student hold has been lifted this administrative trespass remains in effect for the duration of the suspension period. If a need to come on campus exists it should be cleared through the office of judicial affairs.
