The Campus Assessment & Intervention Team is committed to improving community safety through a proactive, collaborative, coordinated, objective, and thoughtful approach to the prevention, identification, assessment, intervention, and management of situations that pose, or may reasonably pose, a threat to the safety and well-being of the campus community.

Members of this team include professional staff from the following areas on campus:

  • Counseling and Psychological Services
  • Dean of Students Office
  • Employee Relations
  • Office of Housing and Residence Life
  • Office of Judicial Affairs
  • Office of the Ombudsman
  • Office of the Provost
  • University Counsel
  • University Police Department
  • Student Health Services

Any individual who is concerned about the behavior of a Mason student is encouraged to contact the Dean of Students Office (703.993.2884) and Counseling and Psychological Services (703.993.2380). This bilateral approach best enables the team to work with the student in the most complete and expedient way possible. In working with the student, the team is guided by a responsibility to address the safety of that student in a way that jointly addresses the safety of the campus community.

If you are concerned about the behavior of a Mason student, we encourage you to first contact the Dean of Students Office at 703.993.2884 so that we can address your concern.

MISSION

It is the mission of the Office of Judicial Affairs and the Student Conduct System at George Mason University to turn potential incidents of misconduct into opportunities for the facilitation of education and student development. It is our goal that as student makes their way through the adjudication process, they will leave that process as better educated students, better all around members of the University community, and better global citizens.
